So one of my resolutions is to loose the baby weight that I gained with little nugget. I'm thinking I should write about this, because I think about it everyday. Currently, I am still loosing about a pound or so a week. At least the scale is going down :)
Let's talk about the how.
Diet:
I've given up "sugar" in the sense that I am not eating candy or desserts.
I'm already pretty low carb because I eat gluten free, and I have for years.
I am using app called "lose it!". This app is great, it figures out for you how many calories to eat. I then usually add a couple of hundred calories because I am breastfeeding.
Excersise:
I feel like I have fallen off the excercise bandwagon.
I was doing a weight training routine by Rachel Cosgrove called "Female Body Breakthrough." I did this after I had the Big Guy and I loved it. I am trying to do this 3 days a week.
I also run and I am trying to continue with running 2 days a week.
The hiccup is because of my life/job/kids I have to get up at 6am to workout. Depending on when little nugget gets me up during the night, it just doesn't happen all the time. But next week is a new week and I hope to up my discipline again.
Progress: 9 pounds away from prebaby. 16 pounds away for what I am told is my "ideal weight"

Behind the Resolution: Wardrobe
I became a mom over 2 years ago, and as any mom will tell you your body doesn't end up quite the same.
I feel myself slipping into the comfortable, old, and unfashionable.
This year I hope to work on my clothes. I hope to do this by creating 10 or so outfits each season that are up to date and totally put together.

Behind the Resolution: lose the baby weight
3. Lose the Baby Weight
In 2009 I had my first son, with this pregnancy I gained a whopping 58 pounds. It took me a short 5 months to fit back in some pre-pregnancy jeans. I took me another 4 or 5 months to loose all of the weight. I was under this allusion that I could just breastfeed and all of the weight came off. I was wrong. Losing baby weight took work. I stopped breastfeeding in November 2010 and I had 2 whole months off before I got pregnant again.
During pregnancy #2 I wasn't nearly as careless with my weight and I had only gained about 35 pounds when Little Nugget arrived in October 2011.
I developed a great habit of working out in the morning while I was pregnant. I hope that this habit continues.
My goal is to focus on new habits to help me loose the weight and chronicle my journey.
Pictures to follow....... I still have 12 pounds to loose

Behind the resolution: Organized House
2. To have an organized house
I don't have a messy house. In fact, I am a stickler about keeping my "surfaces" (ie:counters and tables) free of clutter. I like everything to be put away. But behind those closet and cabinet doors lurks a HUGE MESS. So much a mess that my husband asked for "an organized kitchen" for his birthday present. We went out and bought a new set of shelves and that is as far as we have gotten.
I long to have an organized home. I dream of opening closets and cupboards and not have anything spill out onto me. I would also love to have a home where others can find things easily. Right now the system is to have my husband ask me where everything is and I find it for him. This system is not working.
This year, I am going to attempt to overhaul my life one cupboard at a time. And then I am going to try to keep them clean. I hope to try to post one thing toward my organization goal a week. Here goes nothing....

Behind the resolution : JOY
1. To have more joy and focus on the good.
2011 was an interesting year for me. My job changed, and my life changed pretty significantly. We found out we were expecting a second baby last February and I was really not prepared for it. Anyway, I'm not sure if it was the crazy pregnancy hormones or not but I was really negative. In fact I complained to my husband often about little things. He patiently listened. Eventually I became a little more self aware and starting to ask my husband if I was being negative, he gently responded with a huge YES. Ironic to all of this is that my middle name is in fact Joy. I used to joke that it was for all the joy that I brought to my parents.
This year I want to spend more time focusing on the good things. I would like to post every week either a video or a blog entry about the good things that happened that week. I also going to work on focusing on me and what's wrong with me instead of complaining about other people.
2012, the year I try this joy thing out.
